Norway must react to U.S. surveillance

The Monitoring scandal in the United States is a serious threat to privacy, says Liberal leader Trine Skei Grande. The Liberal  party demands that the government respond to the possible surveillance of Norwegian citizens. The monitoring scandal  that has been revealed in the last month, can be dangerous for democracy and should not be tolerated by the Norwegian authorities according to Skei Grande.
The fight against Prism monitoring must take place on two fronts, through sanctions against U.S. authorities and public international law, she said. The monitoring program has provided U.S. authorities access to information about individuals outside the United States, provided by companies like Apple, Google and Facebook. This information may also have been shared with PST in Norway, reported Klasse Kampen Friday. Liberals are concerned that this information is collected about individuals can be abused and will  not work to improve privacy on the Internet.
